If you’re looking for a nice place for an evening drink, I highly recommend happy hour at La Costanera. It’s a favorite over here, with one of the best views of the coast (seen while feasting) in Half Moon Bay. I mean, come on, check out that view!
I love sitting here for a drink & some bites. After a long day of adventuring, it’s SUCH a good place to come & just relax while you watch the sun set. They have a patio (get there early if you want to sit outside) with fire pits & comfy chairs as well as couches indoors, right by the full windows.
If the wait is long for the restaurant seating, never fear. The downstairs is open seating & you can just head downstairs, find a spot, & relax! 🙂
I really do think the food is great, but Peruvian food (how they do it here), is pretty meat heavy & I just can’t eat a whole dinner of the food from this restaurant. It’s just too much for me (Sam might disagree though). I absolutely LOVE getting their happy hour menu, available from 5-7pm, Tuesday through Friday from 5-7pm. It’s pretty reasonable for a nice restaurant with lovely views of the ocean & the setting sun & the happy hour food is killer.
The ribs are SO good. I don’t usually like meat, but these just fall off of the bone & I love the slightly sweet sauce they serve them with. Yum!
These were something the waiter recommended. They’re fried balls of potato & chorizo in a curry sauce. Can you say: super healthy (kidding, obviously). I liked them well enough, but they weren’t my favorite.
I think both apps were about $7 or $8 for the plate. They’re not huge, but they do give you a good amount to nibble on.
Their sangria is super super good! I like the slight sweetness & they do a good job with the little fruit that they add. Not a traditional sangria, but definitely yummy. They also have a few
I think the sangria was $6 or $8 for a generous glass.
While it’s a great spot for a date (definitely), it’s a pretty casual place. No sweats, obvi, but jeans are great. Throw on your favorites & some nice lipstick & call it a day. There’s couches for you to enjoy your drink on, for goodness sake. Take advantage of that!
Also, go down the stairs to the sand for a quick walk before you sit down!
I am kind of obsessed with this coat. I got it at a small boutique clothing shop in Boulder called Retail Therapy & it’s the best. Unfortunately, I can’t find it anywhere on the Internet (help?). You can, however, find a few that are similar here (just leather, no geometric details), here (a more muted pattern), & here (no leather, but this one’s my favorite).
