We have dreams of this sandwich. Okay, maybe not dreams, but when Sam and I are thinking of making sandwiches, it’s this one we talk about. In fact, just the other day for our Valentine’s Day we did a little picnic in the park. What did we bring? The best damn impression of this sandwich that we could possibly do. (It was delicious, but it was not this sandwich, haha.)
And so, I want to share. If you’re in Florence, get a sandwich here. You’ll know you’re in the right place because of the line, which is how we found the spot. A massive line like this? Let’s eat whatever they’re making.
The sandwich place is connected to the bakery across the street and they bring fresh loaves across the street every few minutes to replenish stores. It’s a magical bread transfer.
There’s self serve wine, too, which is fun. The sandwiches are only 5 euro, which is pretty cheap considering the massive flavorful sandwichness that you get, AND you can pair it with 2 euro wine? It’s magic.
You pick what you want from a bunch of tastyness. Salami, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, blue cheese, provolone, and more. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I usually hate to give travel instructions: go here, do that, feel this way is not my style. But in this case, I’m breaking it. If you’re in Florence, eat here. I guarantee you won’t regret it.
The other great takeaway? If you see a big line, get what they’re all getting. xo
