It’s an annual tradition now (this is year two!) for me and Nadia to head to the pumpkin patches on the coastside for a few pumpkins and to help us get in the Fall spirit. This year was funny – I’d just got back from my Fall colors roadtrip, so I was definitely in the Fall mood and then it was 70 degrees and hot and sunny, which didn’t feel like a pumpkin patching day. But never fear: Patch we did!
We like heading to Rodoni Farms just outside of Santa Cruz. The views of the ocean are beautiful and it’s a perfect spot to scout some pumpkins.
Full disclaimer: We never buy anything. Patches are great and all, but have you seen their pumpkin prices?!?! I always just about fall over backwards when I hear them, so we take our snaps and look around and then head to the grocery store to pick out a pumpkin for a fraction of the cost. Squirrels like to eat our pumpkins the minute we put them outside anyways, so there ya go.
Here’s Nadia looking cute. We didn’t wait until the week of Halloween this year, so there were plenty of pumpkins to choose from!
I like these with the nubbles.
And all of these different colored ones.
The brussel sprout cart is always a favorite. I just got a bit stalk of brussels at the grocery store for $4 and we’ve been eating these favorites roasted and hot. SO good.
This would be our pick if we were buying… Such good colors! The heirloom pumpkins really are good to look at. haha.
Here’s us. HI!
Anyways, thanks for indulging me. This is a tradition I look forward to every year. Pumpkin season is just so fun. <3
